In the start of the new century (millennium), every corner stemmed with the growth of ideas for the rise of capitalism (running and starting businesses) which many call entrepreneurship. Very good a move sincerely with attributes of self sufficiency, financial independence and the likes like quality delivery due to competition in the promise pipeline.
At least people will not wait for the government to take total care of them once they can look around them and create solutions for others in their immediate environment for the exchange of cash.
The process to kick start a business is easy many claim, yes! Depending on what to start and what to end with. You better be prepared for the great work ahead. The great work however aside tenacity and courage which are purely based on human psychology span across the many fixes that hold a business model; sales, production, marketing, operations, strategy, staffing, financial planning and others.
This great work, as huge as they are; the internet created a fair ground for SMEs and start ups to hinge on for success. With the internet, marketing, sales, financial planning can be done to a large extent. Every huge brand or company now has a competitor on the same pedestrial like theirs.
We have seen many upshoots of businesses especially in the creative and food sector, doing it well in serious competition against other brands. Another industry that is making huge impact now is the education. Lots of youths are learning about almost everything from the internet and business men in this field are selling their lessons speedily.
On this reliance on the revolution and revolutionary solution to the world, the transportation sector was hit mainly this year 2019 with the presence of Opay who have come to fight the market with Taxify (now Bolt) and Uber. Another company Edmark we hear us coming to deliver outstanding service too with their own Edpay and other cool stuffs we are waiting to get, their Edfood is competing with Jumiafoods and the huge Nigerian economy is what all of them are relying on.
If you are a businessman in Nigeria and you are not online, before another 10 years, your business will extinct.
We however hope that the Buhari administration will allow much more foreign investments looking at the ‘plus and minus’ around the border closure policy.
You must know that further digital disruption is imminent, that the revolution needed to move Nigeria forward economically.
